Was this site built with Wix? How to tell

Visual builder, not an AI builder · default hosting *.wixsite.com

Wix is the largest website builder in the world and makes no secret of it: the generator tag, the X-Wix response headers and the static.parastorage.com asset host all name it.

Wix now includes an AI site generator, which is why it appears in a scanner for AI-built sites. On its own, a Wix fingerprint means "built with a website builder", not "written by a machine".

The verdict and the evidence are free. The improvement report needs a free account.

How to check it yourself

No tools needed
  1. Search the page source for a generator meta tag naming Wix.
  2. Look for scripts from static.parastorage.com or wixstatic.com.
  3. Check the address: free sites live on *.wixsite.com.
  4. Look at the response headers for anything starting with x-wix-.

These are the rules enabled in the database right now, with the weight each one carries. A single strong match is enough to name the builder; the weights decide how confident the verdict is.

What Wix sites usually get wrong

A lot of JavaScript for a simple page

Wix ships its whole runtime even for a brochure site. It is the most common reason a Wix page scores poorly on a phone.

Default page titles

Pages still called "Home" or "About" waste the strongest SEO field you have.

Questions

Is a Wix site an AI site?

Only if you used the AI generator, and even then a person edited it afterwards. Our verdict for a Wix fingerprint alone is "Likely AI-assisted", never "AI-built".
